Amazing stay

We had such a fantastic weekend at the cabin. Perfect combination of relaxation and adventure. Spa was such a bonus! Mark and Mike were lovely and great hosts. Will be back

Gorgeous place. Mike and Mark have thought of everything you might need. Buddy, their dog, was a delight. Great for an active break, or if you just want hang out on the deck reading a book and enjoying the view.

Tino Ātaahua (very beautiful)

It was short & sweet but we had a great time. Will definitely be back to explore more and enjoy this special peace of paradise. Mark, Mike & Buddy are very accommodating and very nice to deal with. Nga mihi nui.

Great Bach in a great spot

Such a beautiful spot right next to the water. We loved sitting on the little deck watching the estuary coming and going. Frog town beach was a short walk away and a lovely place for a swim. Mark and Mike were very friendly and helpful hosts. We borrowed the bikes to explore over the bridge. Great place for a relaxing holiday, we hope to be back.

Pataua South

This was a nostalgic trip back to Pataua South. The place was just as beautiful as I remember. The cabin was everything that we needed; well-appointed and warm. If it was any closer to the beach we would have been under water at high tide. Mike and Mark were friendly and really helpful. Mia and I had a great time and will certainly be back. Loved the dog Buddy. He came to visit every morning and evening.

Relaxing and Idyllic Getaway

If you're looking for a truly relaxing and idyllic getaway, you can't do better than the Cabin at Pātaua South (20 mins from Whangarei). Right on the sandy estuary, short walk to surf beaches. Cute little cabin, spa, kayaks... Just perfect! Mark and Mike are lovely hosts who give you space and privacy if you want it and are there for a chat or suggested activities as well. Can't recommend it highly enough. They also manage another couple of holiday homes there if you need something bigger.

Thanks Judy - it was fantastic to host you and Stephen. Wasn't it awesome to swim and boggie board at Kauri Mountain while the dolphins frolicked offshore.

Slice of Heaven

It was our second trip back to Mark and Mike’s and it won’t be our last! We absolutely love Pataua North and the Cabin has everything we need and more. Mark and Mike certainly know how to make you feel welcome, relaxed and at home. The cabin has everything you need with nice little touches. From plunger coffee, cool drinks on arrival, a BBQ to cook and chocolates. To bikes (even an electric one), kayaks, paddle tennis etc. We loved biking to Tahi Cafe each morning for coffee over the foot bridge and past the farms. There are so many options with beaches to choose from and many walks. We personally enjoyed climbing up Mt Manaia which offers panoramic views of the Whangarei Heads. Mike and Mark are so genuine and kind. Thanks again boys.

We always enjoy hosting Kate and Ross. They know the Pātaua drill and we enjoy seeing them taking advantage of everything that's on offer- biking, swimming, hiking and relaxing. Until next time :)

An incredible place!

This is an incredible place! Not only is the view and space beautiful, but Mike and Mark are so welcoming and friendly. They make you feel right at home from the minute they meet you and are eager to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is easy access to hiking nearby and a beach literally steps from your door. The hot tub is such an added bonus as well. If you’re a dog lover this place is for you as you’ll be welcomed by two happy pups. I cannot recommend a stay here enough, you won’t regret it!!
